Psalm 6 Themes:

*Deliverance in times of trouble.

*God is able to rescue us.

The start of Psalm 6 sees David asking God not to rebuke him in anger and the plea follows throughout the scripture. David is longing for a fresh commitment to God. He yearns to be close to God. He demonstrates this by doing the following:

1) David Recognised the sin that he had done and was honest about it.
2)David accepts that his actions have consequences.
3)David understood the difference between Justice and Grace. Justice alone would not have spared David. God’s Mercy was shown through forgiveness.
4)David’s Honesty & Transparency allowed God to know the state of David’s heart.

We too should learn to be open with God in all circumstances, situations and emotions.

Have a blessed day.
